Celebrating Valentine’s Day with this festive Rose and Ginger Paloma.

Happy Valentine’s Day!! It’s kind of funny because right now, as I’m writing this, it’s already Valentine’s Day here in South Korea. But…I’m also flying home today, and even though it’s a sixteen-plus-hour travel day, it’ll still be Valentine’s Day when I land in the US. Since South Korea is a day ahead, I lost a day coming here, but I’ll get it back on the way home.
I won’t lie—I’m pretty sad to be leaving some of my family behind in Korea. But I’ve got to get back home and, you know, do that whole work thing. Some of my family is flying back with me today, while my parents and a few siblings are staying for Big Air, which is on the 21st here but the 20th in the US. Red’s competing, and I would’ve loved to stay and watch, but three weeks away from work was just too much. So, home I go.
I’m sure it’ll be nice to be back, but saying goodbye to everyone, especially after the amazing time we’ve had, is really tough.
I am excited to hike again and get back into my normal routine. It’s been freezing the whole time we’ve been here—standing outside for hours watching snowboarding in the cold meant hiking was totally off the table.

Anyway, I usually post cocktails on Saturdays, but this one just felt perfect for today. It’s easy enough to whip up tonight for your Valentine’s drink, but also tasty enough to make any time of year.
No surprise here—the Paloma is one of my all-time favorites. I’ve got not one, but two Paloma recipes on HBH: this Strawberry Chamomile Paloma and this Pomegranate Paloma. Both are some of the most popular cocktails on the site…and with my family, who’ve been getting a little too much attention lately for their drinking habits!
Today’s Paloma is a bit simpler but still delicious—perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Plus, I just really wanted an excuse to put roses in my drink.

Here’s the deal: Like any Paloma, this one’s easy. It’s a simple mix of fresh grapefruit juice, lime juice, and tequila. What makes it special is a little rose water and a good splash of ginger beer—my absolute favorite drink topper.
The rose water adds a subtle floral note that pairs perfectly with the sweet citrus from the grapefruit. The ginger beer brings a touch of sweetness and some fun fizz. Put it all together, and you’ve got the perfect light pink, sweet, and fizzy cocktail for Valentine’s Day…or honestly, any day.
If you’re new to rose water, it’s a great pantry staple—you can use it in Middle Eastern-inspired dishes, and it’s super healthy, great for your skin. I usually grab mine from Amazon, but my local Whole Foods carries it too.

Since I’m flying home today (and probably in the air while you’re reading this), I don’t have any Valentine’s Day plans. But honestly? After the last seven days, some chill time sounds amazing.
Maybe I’ll sneak some chocolate before crashing tonight, but by Friday, I’ll probably be mixing up one of these fun cocktails for someone.
Trust me, you’ve gotta try this one. It’s refreshing, light, and…come on, the roses alone make it worth it.
It’s yummy, cute, and fun!
